Monitored & Separate Exchanges
Monitored and Separate Exchange are services offered by Minnesota Families United to ensure children are transported to visits safely. Minnesota Families United will determine the level of exchange needed during intake. Below is an explanation of each service.

Monitored Exchange: When children are being transferred from one parent to another for unsupervised visitation or shared custody, Minnesota Families United monitors the exchange of children from one parent to another. The exchange takes place at a neutral location at a scheduled time.

Separate Exchange: In high-conflict cases, Minnesota Families United facilitates a separate exchange at a neutral location. In a separate exchange, the parent with the child/children arrives first and transfers the children to the MFU Staff Member. That parent leaves the premises and the child is monitored by the staff member until the other parent arrives and takes the child/children into their care.
